1996 Mercedes-Benz SL320 R129 3.2L Petrol Convertible with Hardtop
For sale is my 1996 Mercedes SL320 R129, finished in Signal Red with a really nice contrasting cream interior.
These cars are becoming more and more sought after as future classics, and I think this one is a particularly good-looking example. The red and cream colour combination really suits the car, and it also has an AMG kit and alloy wheels which give it a slightly sportier look. It has four Falken tyres fitted, which have only covered a few thousand miles.
The car has covered just 91,000 miles in 30 years, which works out at very low annual mileage for one of these.
The MOT history is good and reflects the overall condition of the car. There are no obvious signs of rust, just the usual age-related wear and tear you would expect from a 30-year-old car.
The previous owner had the car from 2008 until 2024, so it was in their ownership for 16 years. They eventually traded it in because of the London ULEZ, which made it too expensive to use regularly.
The electric roof works as it should, going up and down without any issues. One side of the window has come slightly unstuck where the old glue has dried out, but it doesn't leak.
The car currently has an MOT until 21/05/2027. When it was last MOT'd, it had an oil and filter change as well as a full gearbox service. I also had the same servicing carried out the previous year when the car was MOT'd.
Overall, a lovely example of the R129 SL320 with low mileage, a great colour combination and plenty of classic appeal. It's a car that's only going to become more desirable with age.
